Emerson actually pulled out his feeding tube today! Nikki, the daytime nurse, said she checked on him and saw that he pulled it right out. I did notice that he was pulling on it yesterday but I wasn't sure if he was doing that on purpose, or it was a coincidence. Guess he was telling us, yes Im done with this! His face is a little red from the tape due to his sensitive skin. Grant and I both have sensitive skin so looks like there was no getting around that! We have been putting creme on him the last two days because of his sensitive skin. Poor little guy!

Nikki did mention that with his tube out, they would try to bottle feed him. But if he isn't waking up for his feedings or not able to finish his feedings, than they will put a feeding tube back in. So we will see how it goes.

We brought in some sleepers, blankets, and a teddy bear for Emerson today. We brought the teddy bear to take a picture of it next to Emerson to compare his size, and the Teddy Bear is quite bigger than him! A big THANK YOU to Loretta for this adorable bear. It will be fun to show Emerson one day how small he was.

Daddy fed Emerson at his 5pm feeding. He was being a little stubborn for daddy! Although I think its more like daddy's touch makes him so comfortable and relaxed and puts him into a nice cozy sleep! Nikki helped out and got Emerson to finish off the bottle. The magic nurse touch, right? LOL

We got in a good hour of Kangaroo Care today. I needed that! Nothing better than my little guy snuggled up to me. He was a little squeaking as he adjusted to his new environment. He squirmed a little sideways, and laid his head right down by my heart and calmed right down. Brought tears to my eyes <3

Daddy and I tagged off so that I could eat dinner, and Daddy can get some Emerson time! I always feel bad when ending Kangaroo Care. Emerson's so peaceful and than we disturb him from his cozy cocoon. I know how I am when woken from my naps. :p But daddy is great at soothing him as he tucks him back into his jammies and swaddles him back into a cocoon. But Emerson was not interested in sleep tonight - he was wide awake! Just in time for visitors to stop by :)

Our friends, Shawna and Jay, stopped by. So, so, so good to see them!!! They were the first visitors where Emerson was so awake and interactive. They got to see those big beautiful eyes <3 Thank you for making the trip out Bradley's! And thank you for the adorable gift! I cant wait to put Emerson in those adorable bibs and sleepers!

Emerson's 8pm vital check went good. Emerson was up 20 grams, so is now 3lbs 10oz! Almost up to a pound gained since birth. As he was being weighed, he peed on his bedding. Oops! LOL Grant and I changed Emerson's bedding with one of the blankets we brought in as Louise, the night nurse, cuddled a bit with him :) His feeding went well. The last half hour he kept sticking out his tongue like he was ready for his bottle, so thought this feeding would be a success :) He took the full feeding, which was about 30cc, and than was out like a light.

Sweet dreams baby boy!
