Week 22

We cant even begin to express our gratitude for all of the calls, emails, texts, messages, and blog comments to our last post. We were not sure if we were ready to share the news with friends and family, but your comforting words were exactly what we needed to hear. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

We met with the genetic counselor this week. I was a little nervous, as I am at most of the appointments these days, but she was really great. All of our doctors have really provided us so much information and compassion. We are very lucky to have them by our side as we navigate the scary unknown! We knew a lot of what the genetic counselor went over, but also were given a lot of great resources. Stay tuned for another blog post on that appointment if you're interested :)

We started our baby registry this past week. Feeling good about deciding on the bigger items, but can you say overwhelming! So many things, how do you decide?! LOL We did use Lucies List as a referral, and a big THANK YOU for that resource. Or we might still be wandering aimlessly around Babies R Us! While it felt like we accomplished a lot at the store, I know we arent close to completion! Hoping to pick some of my mama friends brain, and we can wrap the registry up in the next couple weeks :)

Baby boy is almost 1 pound now! His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct. And hes even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes are starting to form, but the irises still lack pigment. Cant wait to see the him in the next ultrasound :)

How far along? 22 weeks

Baby Size: Spaghetti Squash! Seems like a big jump from last weeks length of a carrot eh? LOL

Total weight gain/loss: My scale broke! Should I take that personal? LOL Need to pick a new one up this week...

Maternity clothes? Yep, and think I may be to the point where Im giving up any pants that are leggings. Leggings, skirts, and maxis....all about comfort in this humidity!

Stretch marks? I have noticed that mark on my stomach from my belly button downwards...stretch mark?

Sleep: No complaints here! Even got a few naps in this week :)

Dreams: I am starting to have vivid dreams about things I definitely couldn't do in real life. Like fixing things under the hood of a car! LOL

Best of the week: Witnessing two dear friends get married!

Miss Anything? Loui's Antipasto salad!

Movement: Still not feeling much, just a few flutters at the bottom of my stomach if I move to quickly

Food cravings: Donuts! Trying to limit myself but seriously could eat them daily. :o

Have you started to show yet: Most definitely! No hiding that belly anymore :)

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? More off than on, which makes me sad because I love my ring!

Symptoms: Experienced my first bout of heartburn, um OUCH! I received the good advice that ice cream is my new best friend, I think I can live with that :p I also can not eat a full meal. Ill eat half a meal or a few bites and than start to feel sick. Liquid food seems to be the answer to this. Lots of protein shakes these days!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty sad, but given the ride we have been on Im sure this is normal. Just feeling what I need to feel.

Looking forward to: A day off work! Its been brutal in there lately!

“That line you think is a stretch mark is a linear nigra and is normal during pregnancy . It happens with hormone levels that change during pregnancy. It should fade after pregnancy. Yay baby :)”

“As one who had her baby on Nov 1st, the one thing that we used almost constantly were footed sleepers. It was a pain to get little limbs into onsies and pants and Megan basically stayed in those pjs day and night. The snap up ones were great for quick diaper checks (our diapers had the line on them that changed color when they were wet).

Check Ikea for cribs if you haven't already. Also, I can't recommend the summer infant video monitor highly enough. Any registry type questions, feel free to ask!

Congrats on the newest Goulet :) ”
