Week 24

Hello week 24! It has been a great week. I started back at prenatal yoga classes, and it felt good to take some time for myself. And especially to connect with baby boy. Reminded me of something I need to make a priority during pregnancy! We also welcomed my friend Tam's baby boy, Drew, into the world! He is so adorable!!! Congrats Tam and Keith! We are so happy for you two!

Grant and I also got a chance to go check out Fun. They put on a great show! The heat was a little brutal, but nothing beats a summer night listening to live music :) We ran into some old friends at the concert which made the night even better!

And the biggest moment of the week - I felt baby boy move!!! He has active all day long, just flipping away in there :) What an incredible feeling!

Baby boy should be about a foot long now, almost the size of a ear of corn! His brain is growing rapidly, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world.

I cant wait to see how much baby has grown at our ultrasound on Friday!

How far along? 24 weeks

Baby Size: Cantaloupe

Total weight gain/loss: Well I bought a scale this week but it didnt work! But it feels like Ive gained. Hope to have an update on this next week - I will at least have the doctors scale on the 19th ;)

Maternity clothes? Yep, with the heat and humidity so high any thing that has the tummy cover makes me hotter though, so no pants/jeans unless I have to. LOL

Stretch marks? Nothing new, I have been using the Palmer coconut oil in the morning and before bed. Have heard great things about that lotion so lets hope it carries me through!

Sleep: My sleep has been going good. Ive been a little more tired but have been staying up later than 8:30 so that might be it. Yes I said 8:30. Ha! I still am having crazy vivid dreams. They feel so surreal. Some feel like they have meaning, others feel like some crazy movie staring Johnny Depp. :p

Miss Anything? Nothing to much this week. Food is starting to taste good again, which is a huge plus! Indulged in PF Changs, and was worried it would be blah, but was still as delicious as it was pre-pregnancy. Grant was so kind to enjoy a key lime pie martini for me. :p

Movement: Yes!!!! Felt him move! At work I felt a few kicks on my lower belly and thought..I think thats him! And it continued that hour and all day. That is the area he is always in when we have an ultrasound :) My heart melted. Seriously the best feeling ever. I had no idea how amazing that would feel! I have felt a few kicks every day since :)

Food cravings: Hot dogs if you can believe that. A nice BBQ hot dog!

Have you started to show yet: Im getting more and more people commenting, which I can say never gets old :)

Best moment this week: Baby Kicking of course! But I was also excited that my friend Tam had her baby boy Drew this week! Tam has been my pregnant friend. Every WTF and OMG this is awesome feeling we have shared together. Everyone should have a friend like that through pregnancy :) I got to drop by the hospital and snuggle with him for a bit. Made me so excited to meet our little one soon. Momma and baby are doing great!

Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? Off :(

Symptoms: Had a small glimpse of morning sickness on Monday. I told my friend Tam it was baby boy nervous about her c-section! LOL

Happy or Moody most of the time: My spirits have been up and it feels great! :)

Looking forward to: Ultrasound and checking out the babys heart with an echocardiogram next week!
